This Wednesday, December 15th, I will be teaching a workshop on Victorian polka sponsored by Specialty Productions in New York City. A not-historical-but-very-fun workshop on Cross-Step Waltz will follow. Both workshops will be at the Sandra Cameron Dance Studio, 199 Lafayette Street (one block south of Spring Street, between Kenmare and Broome). No experience is necessary and no partner is needed. The cost is $15 per workshop or $25 for both. No advance registration needed -- just show up!
Flat shoes are recommended for the polka workshop; spike heels are not-recommended for both.

historical and modern music, come learn the basic polka that started it all!

Cross-Step Waltz
8:30-10:00pm
Created by Richard Powers at Stanford University, Cross-Step Waltz is the newest waltz on the dance floor, spreading quickly because it's easy to learn yet endlessly innovative, satisfying for both beginners and the most experienced dancers. It travels and rotates like traditional waltz but the addition of the cross-step opens up a wide range of playful yet gracefully flowing variations.
